Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens

Birds and Seed

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 lens
That single spot to the left is a piece of birdseed that was just dropped.  This is a pretty good picture considering it is through a glass window.  The Cannon 50mm F1.8 is not an expensive lens but when used well, it produces some very nice results.

Bird Feeder

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 50mm f1.8 lens
Sometimes the birds even land on each other when there is no place to land.  I have a bunch of pictures but haven't taken much lately as it's dark most of the time that I am free to take pictures.  More to come.

Reflections in Fall

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 17-40mm f4L lens
So my other computer has not been cooperating so the blog has been on a much longer hiadias than expected.  I have a bunch of great shots and will try to be better about posting.  I do love to share the pictures and love comments and feedback.  It was a great year for foliage if you had time to get out on a nice day during the week.  I snapped this shot on my way in to work from the middle of a "major road" in Vermont (major is a relative term but generally there is enough traffic that I wouldn't have been able to stop in the middle of the road and shoot this out my car window.
On another note, I really enjoyed renting a lens.  For me it was a nice way to play with it before paying for a lens I may not use as much as I thought.

4 Wheel Drive

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens
Venturing into the world of manual mode on my camera.  It has been liberating and a great learning experience.  Found this truck in Waitsfield, VT.  and just couldn't resist to snap a few shots, even in the rain.

Hay Fields

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens
Hay season is probably one of my favorite times for photographs around farm fields.  It never really gets old.

Nevada Falls, Yosemite National Park

Canon G11
Life has been a little crazy again and my computer is still acting up but I came across this photo I took and processed a while back.  It was a great trip and I look forward to going back some day.  If you've never been, it is worth the trip.  Hoping to get the blog back on track sometime soon.

It's a little early but the lilies have been working their way out in full force this week.  Makes for some great pictures.

(Due to some computer issues, my posts have been sparse.  I hope to have it resolve soon and get back to posting regularly)

Logging

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 lens
Although I love wandering around in the woods, I do understand that logging is just part of our human interaction with nature.  Walking in the backwoods, there seems to be a lot of this lately.

Flying Ants

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 lens
This is not a true Macro shot but the summer season reminds us that we will be swatting flying things until it gets cold again.

Scarlet Tanager

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5 lens
It was a tough shot without a longer lens but a very neat bird.  Scarlet Tanager.
Thinking I might need to rent a nice zoom lens for some bird photography.

Canon EOS T1i using a  EF-s 18-55mm f3.5-5 lens
Last week I was in Cincinnati, OH.  I went for a drive on my first night in town and found a few nice spots on the KY side of the river.  I will be back at some point to get some night shots of the skyline.

Rainbow Ice

Canon EOS T1i using a Canon EF 28-135mm f3.5-5 lens
Just barely caught this rainbow but it sure was pretty.  Spring has come in like a lion.  I just hope it doesn't get really cold again.  My photo inspiration has returned and hopefully lots of pictures to follow as the flowers bloom up here in the north.

White Stuff?

Canon EOS T1i using a EF 50mm f1.8 lens
This was a week ago.  It all melted during the day but hard to believe that there was snow in the yard last weekend and today it was 76 Degrees.  Should be some great spring pictures coming to the blog shortly.

Melting

  Canon EOS T1i using a  EF-s 18-55mm f3.5-5 lens
This picture was taken in the fall but fits this upcoming weekend well.  It's supposed to be warm and sunny.  The snow is pretty much gone and it's time to start on the spring projects.

Gate in Snow

Canon EOS T1i using a  EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
It was nice and cold this weekend but no new snow.  Today was 45 degrees.  Tomorrow night it will be in the single digits.  I wish this winter would make up it's mind.

Tools of a Trade

Canon EOS T1i using a  EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
Getting the job done requires the right tools.  In this case, this room is too dark to take this picture without an overhead flash bounced off the wall.  I am starting to enjoy the things I can do with a flash.  So many different ways to shoot.

Tracks in the Snow

Canon EOS T1i using a  EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
Winter is a fun time to see what roams the yard.  In our case, Squirrels, deer, cats, mice and birds.  It is always fun to find fresh tracks in the snow.
